~6'0"
Species
Skywing Elf

first impressions

Visual: Nyx is on the tall side and has a bottom-heavy build, with wide hips (that also accommodate her wings at the base of her spine) but a fairly small upper body. Her skin is blue-grey with paler markings and she flushes purple instead of red accordingly (her grazes also come up dark purple, implying she may have purple blood rather than red instead of it just being a matter of red combining with blue to create the purple flush). She has two pairs of horns, the forward set short and curved slightly back and the second set much longer, growing downwards and then back up towards the back of her head. She also has complete heterochromia, with one brown eye and one blue eye.
Demeanour: Nyx is talkative and affable for the most part, if also rather teasing and prone to throwing in humour at the wrong time. She tries to cultivate something of a "lovable rogue" image and considers herself charming, though it doesn't always work considering how badly she's willing to con people. She lies and deceives easily and thus becomes somewhat awkward when confronted with the consequences of her actions, slipping back into opportunism by default even when she knows it's undeserved. There's an implication she is used to people trying to take advantage of her and acts accordingly, as she seems to be genuinely wrong-footed by how to handle good turns towards her.
Sound: Nyx has a fairly broad accent that would sound English (North London) by Earth standards, enunciating fairly clearly in most cases but with certain distinctions (such as pronouncing "-all" more like "-aw"). Her speech manner is generally on the casual side except when she's trying to sell certain kinds of deceptions or her work, in which case she takes a more formal register a bit like a salesman.

info

In the magical kingdom of Xadia, the various elf races connected to different sources of primal magic live in separate territories and rarely intermingle unless necessary. The Midnight Desert, a hostile wasteland occupied by Soulfang Serpents that steal souls with their bite, separates Moonshadow Elf territory from that of the Skywing Elves.
It is within this desert that Nyx plies her trade, offering a safe route across the desert on the back of a mount so massive the Soulfangs pose no risk to it - for a price, of course. While she offers a service, if the right opportunity arises then Nyx will happily gouge her passengers for coin, treasure, or opportunities to gain more of it by relieving them of some of their baggage. Her con artistry is barely limited by enough of a concept of honour to not screw someone over after they've helped her out, but she remains very much a self-serving person at heart, if more the type to ruin someone's day than their life if she can help it.

abilities

As a Skywing Elf, Nyx knows the Sky Arcanum and has an innate connection to the primal magic of the sky. As she is not shown using the magic in her short appearance in the show, it can be assumed she is probably not a practicing mage and thus her knowledge is likely limited to simple or useful spells. She does, however, have the gift of flight which is a rare ability among her people, with it being said only one in ten Skywing Elves are actually born with wings. It can be assumed she can breathe normally at high altitudes like a bird, as the Sky Nexus is at the top of a mountain spire high enough to cause other elves and humans to asphyxiate well before reaching it.
Nyx carries a combined spear and boomerang weapon that she uses proficiently to hunt, able to aim exactly enough to break an arrow hidden within a magical mist mid-flight. She also has some level of experience with animal taming and riding, having managed to tame a massive Ambler to give rides across the Midnight Desert, and demonstrates enough physical strength to regularly help drag its feet out of the sand when it gets stuck.
